Sadly, the place we stayed at over the weekend wasn’t overly photogenic (except for the snake-infested waterfront… ewww), so we took a real break and left the camera gear alone. Michelle’s photo session will have to wait!
Meanwhile, we’ve taken quite a few wedding bookings and enquiries since launching earlier this month, which I’m really excited about! I’ll introduce you to some of the great couples we’ve met as soon as we line up their engagement sessions!
Until then, here are some photos from last December. They were a surprise for the mother/grandmother on the King side of these four families, so I couldn’t share them earlier
The original plan was to take these photos at Redhead Beach, but with clouds overhead we decided to move to Belmont Christian College, where Alex (one of the dads) is a teacher. What an awesome location it ended up being!
EDIT: unfortunately some of these photos had to be removed. Sorry!

Tomorrow is Australia Day. The day we remember a bunch of English criminals and their guards setting up shop in Sydney 220 years ago. What a proud heritage we have!
Seriously tho, it’s great to live in Australia and it’s nice that we have a day set aside to take note of that fact. In honour of this great country, its Special Day and the requisite public holiday, Michelle and I are taking our chillens (just furry ones, for now!) down to Tuggerah to reclaim the break we lost to last year’s floods.
And we’ll come back with lots of photos!
So, stay tuned. And have a great weekend. And if you’re not living in Australia, feel sorry for yourself.
I leave you with a few words from Holly’s mum (of cute puppy fame):
Dear Luke,
The DVD has arrived and I am THRILLED – Thank you SO MUCH. What a wonderful, precious and beautiful record of us. Thank you so much. I wish you the very very best for this year – you have what it takes! Will be in touch when I get my act together and have a wedding

The lads from up-and-coming heavy rock band Iridium are keen to hit the town for a promo shoot in the very near future, but I hadn’t heard them perform before, so I suggested starting with some live shots. The idea is that seeing and hearing them do their thing (earplugs notwithstanding!) should inspire, or at least inform, a few photo session ideas!
Anyway, they were playing last night at an all-age gig in Hamilton, so I met them all, heard them play and took a few photos in the process. For such a new band, they were surprisingly tight and entertaining – if you’re a fan of the genre and don’t mind a bit of screaming, you should check them out!
Here are few photos from the night. Enjoy!

Holly is a ridiculously cute 12-week-old cocker spaniel.
I met up with her and her mum for a couple of hours of fun in Lambton Park on Saturday. For such a young puppy, she was very well behaved, at least until she discovered the dog treats in one of my camera bags!
With a whole park full of exciting smells and sounds to inspect, Holly didn’t stay in the same place for very long. But when you’re this cute, you can get away with anything, right?
