Vijay and Russell are friends of ours from church, and in a few short weeks they’re getting married! It’s been awesome to see their love for each other grow over the last couple of years, and I can’t wait to hang out with on them their wedding day.
Russ proposed to Vijay on Dudley Beach (after making her climb over a whole heap of rocks!), so we returned there for their engagement session. I’m sure you’ll agree they’re a ridiculously good-looking couple

PS: This is our first batch of images processed with Adobe Lightroom, which will make our workflow heaps faster. I’m not entirely sure why we’ve been using the much clunkier Bridge for so long
Yesterday my mum arrived from Adelaide for a weekend with her boys. For a change, I decided to have a camera with me all day. Here are some of my favourite images … from the flower market in Sydney, to Nate’s soccer match back in Newcastle (his team won 7-0!!), to the jetty near Nate and Jill’s house at sunset!
I hope you like them.
Mmm. Perdy.

Jill was buying some flowers for her mum, for mother's day. Needless to say, the markets were busy!

I liked this guy's face. Sadly I didn't have a longer lens with me!

Soccer time! That's my mum. Jill's in the background.

Obviously I'm my mother's son.

I have the cutest wife in the world!

Jill's dad turned up for a look-see.

This guy is on Nate's soccer team. I liked his face too.

Woohoo! Another goal!

Yes, this was actually candid. I really like it.

How cool is this tree?

Michelle was getting bored and thought it would be a good idea to take a photo of me taking a photo of mum taking a photo. :D

- Bryn: Navy boy. Not home nearly enough for his liking.
- Bonnie: About to marry said Navy boy. Well, in November. Full-time mum.
- Zac: Son of Bonnie and Bryn. Lots of energy. Not so much patience!
- e-session: Ha! More like chasing Zac around the park as the sun goes down!
As you can see, this engagement / family session was a hoot! We ran out of time (and light) to capture the romance between Bonnie and Bryn, but it’s hardly surprising that Zac took the limelight when he’s this cute! Hopefully I’ll have a chance to spend a little more time alone with the happy couple before November comes around. Either way, I can’t wait to photograph their wedding!

In the 4 months or so since we launched OFD for real, we’ve had more enquiries, bookings and shoots than we’ve known what to do with!
Well, not quite, but we have been busy, and so far I’ve been doing pretty much everything … responding to enquiries, handling bookings, looking after invoices and accounts, updating the website, taking the photos, processing the photos, … the list could go on!
Add my day job to all of these things, and as those of you who are waiting for your photos know, there really is too much to do in too little time.
So, the time has come to bring my lovely wife Michelle on board! We’ve been trying to figure out how she could become more involved in the business (especially since I failed to win her over to getting behind the camera!), and now that OFD is humming, it makes sense for her to start looking after enquiries, bookings, admin and eventually some of the processing too.
I’ll still be the guy behind the camera, but it’s going to be *great* to have Michelle to help out with some of the day-to-day stuff. Expect to hear from her soon!
Oh, and here’s a photo of her with our neighbours Georgia and Senaia. Who’s the cutest?

And a quick snap from this afternoon:
