Within minutes of Josiah’s birth, he was rushed off to John Hunter Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with breathing difficulties. He was grunting with each breath, and his chest wasn’t moving up and down smoothly at all.
It was a scary few minutes, but the NICU staff were amazing and before long they had him breathing happily on his own. Within a couple of hours, he was released from the NICU and returned to his mum.
